A Little Update!

It's been a hectic and exciting couple of months here at ADS...apologies for the long overdue update! We've been working on a variety of projects and are very pleased to see successful end results. Here's a small snippet of what we've been up to!

As mentioned in our previous blog, we completed works at Holiday Inn, Brentford Lock as part of the Open Lobby Concept at the tail end of last year. This was entered into the European Hotel Design Awards 2013 by Intercontinental Hotel Group and has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 'Cafe / All Day Dining' category. Awaiting the result...keeping fingers crossed and watch this space!  To add to this, our managing director Stuart Bradbury has been given the privilege once again to be part of the judging panel for these awards. Best of luck to all of the finalists!

On another note, a project close to home, Pershore Library, has recently reopened after undertaking a large scale refurbishment project. The transformed library has been very well received by the public and it has been brilliant to be involved in such a project for the local community as well as widening our expertise!

Also on our radar has been the roll out of the 'Real Pubs'. These are fantastic gastro pubs spread across London offering true food and drink alongside great atmospheres. We have just completed the first Real Pub to be based outside of London in Cambridge, situated in a lovely riverside location. We're looking forward to seeing more of these emerge throughout the country. Check out the review in Harper's Bazaar of our recent completion, The Wilmington, located in Clerkenwell!

"On a leafy street corner in Clerkenwell (opposite foodie mecca Exmouth Market), gastro-pub The Wilmington has undergone a triumphant transformation, complete with an elegant main bar, Prosecco on tap, super-comfy furnishings and a re-discovered glass atrium above the dining area. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it has already become a hub for families or friends seeking delicious seasonal dishes such as roast pumpkin, pomegranate, radicchio, hazelnuts & spelt salad, and Medallions of rabbit, wild mushroom fricassee & kale. Sunday roasts – think slow cooked rump and caramelised shallots or half a roast chicken with scotch quails’ eggs – all come complete with the best Yorkshire puddings in town, and are worth settling in for."

We've also been involved in David Lloyd Leisure's latest investment in the new £750,000 facility in Dublin. The club features three multi-purpose activity rooms, a play frame, soft play zone, outdoor area, DL kids cafe bar and lounge. One of our senior designers had a brilliant day at the official opening, meeting Lord Mayor of Dublin City Oisin Quinn, former Lions captain Brian O'Driscoll and general manager Sean Singleton!

Completed photographs of all of these will be uploaded shortly to our portfolio section so be sure to take a glance.
